In 2008, People Magazine reported Serena Williams and Common were dating, although Serena kept quiet and said she was just concentrating on her tennis game. This week on the Tyra Banks Show, Serena confirmed Common was indeed her boyfriend. Sources report the two have been going strong since last November 2008 when they met through Serena’s older sister, Venus.

Common, real name Rashid Lynn, is a successful actor and rapper. Common is ten years older than Serena. He dated singer Erykah Badu from 2000 to around 2003. Dating rumors have always followed around Common, from singer/actress Alicia Keys to actress Taraji P. Henson both of whom played alongside Common in the movie Smokin’ Aces. Common has a daughter, Omoye Assata Lynn (born 1997).

Prior to dating Common, dating rumors linked Serena to NFL players Lavar Arrington and Keyshawn Johnson, plus actor Jackie Long.
