Meet Betina Driver, wife of NFL star Donald Driver. Betina and Donald are college sweethearts. They met in the weight room at Alcorn State University in Mississippi. She was getting in shape for the coming band performance year and he was working out as part of the football program. Betina says, “It kind of worked out perfectly because I was in the band, he was on the football field, and we were able to go to all the games.”

Donald married his college sweetheart  Betina in 2000, while playing his second year with the Green Bay Packers.

Before meeting Betina and enjoying the life of a NFL star, Donald overcame being homeless and selling drugs to survive while living in a U-Haul truck in Houston, Texas. Donald said, “You try to do anything you can to provide for your family.” “I sold for a long, long time.”  Donald adds, “When I met my wife, Betina in college, she said, ‘God is testing you. And if you want to be with me, you have to stop’.'” “That was my turning point. ” “I saw a better future for myself, my wife and my kids.”  The couple has two children, son, Cristian, and daughter Christina.

Betina was raised in Cleveland, Mississippi in a town of about 12,000 near the Arkansas border. She graduated from Cleveland High School in 1996. While in high school, Betina was a member of the Cleveland High School marching band were she served as dance captain for two years. Upon graduation, Betina attended Alcorn State University were she received a Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice.

In 2007, Betina took 14th out of 120 contestants in the Women’s Tri-Fitness World Challenge in Las Vegas. The competition called for her to do bench presses, box jumps and an obstacle course. Betina also had to bench press 60 percent of her body weight. For the competition, Betina went on a strict diet that included fish, asparagus and eggs. Betina says, “It was intense training, and the eating was the tough part.”  Betina says she usually trains three times a week with a personal trainer. She does cardio on the elliptical machine and runs a few miles.

Currently, Betina is the President and Director of the Donald Driver Foundation. The  Donald Driver Foundation helps provide assistance to homeless mothers and disadvantaged children.

Donald Driver has played 10 years in the NFL. He was drafted in 1999 by the Green Bay Packers. In 2006, Donald Signed a contract extension for 4 years worth 17 million dollars.
