Meet Millie Smith, wife of NBA star Steve Smith. The two met at a charity tennis tournament in Detroit. They conducted a long-distance courtship for more than a year before Steve popped the question. A year later, Millie and Steve married in 1996. Millie and Steve have two sons, Brayden and Davis.
When speaking about his wife, Millie, a Louisiana native who attended Georgia State University, Steve adds, “She’s definitely a level-headed person.” Steve says, “She’s a Southern girl. That’s attractive to me. She has Southern ways. She does things slow. I try to live life slow, not fast.”
Steve Smith played 14 years in the NBA before retiring in 2005. He played with several teams, including the Miami Heat, Portland Trail Blazers, San Antonio Spurs, Atlanta Hawks, and Charlotte Bobcats. Steve is perhaps best known for his five-year stint with the Atlanta Hawks which included an All-Star Game appearance in 1998. He won a championship with the Spurs in 2003. Currently, Steve works as an analyst/announcer for “NBA Tv.”
