Meet Piper Riley Billups, wife of NBA star Chauncey Billups. Piper and Chauncey met in high school at Denver’s George Washington High School. The two knew each other for several years before they started dating during Piper’s senior year.
Piper says, “When I met Chauncey, I think I was 15 and I was a sophomore.” “We must have seen each other at a barbeque or something and just talked and ended up going to dinner with some friends and then we just hung out every day after that. That’s all I remember is being together every day,” Piper said.
Chauncey married Piper on July 14th,2001. The couple has three daughters.
Piper graduated from Metropolitan State College of Denver with a business degree in Marketing.
Piper, a dedicated philanthropist, was given the “Making a Difference” award for her long-term dedication to the community. Through her work with The Spread Her Wings Foundation, which she founded in 2009, Billups assists 6th- and 7th-grade girls to become strong, independent young women.
Aside from all her community work, Piper says on most days she’s driving the kids to and from school and activities,plus doing laundry and ironing.

Chauncey Billups has played 13 years in the NBA. He was Drafted third overall in the 1997 NBA Draft by the Boston Celtics. Chauncey has played for several teams including: Boston Celtics (1997–1998), Toronto Raptors (1998), Denver Nuggets (1998–2000, 2008–present), Orlando Magic (2000), Minnesota Timberwolves (2000–2002), Detroit Pistons (2002–2008).
Chauncey helped the Detroit Pistons win the 2004 NBA Finals over the Los Angeles Lakers, four games to one. He averaged 21 points and 5.2 assists per game during the series to earn the NBA Finals MVP Award.
