Pittsburgh Steelers running back Rashard Mendenhall posted a series of Tweets criticizing those celebrating the death of Osama bin Laden. As a result, Mendenhall’s tweets are starting to raise some eyebrows and stir up controversy.

Here’s what Mendenhall tweeted on Monday:

“What kind of person celebrates death? It’s amazing how people can HATE a man they have never even heard speak. We’ve only heard one side. We’ll never know what really happened. I just have a hard time believing a plane could take a skyscraper down demolition style.”

Pittsburgh Steelers President, Art Rooney, issued a statement saying he had no idea what Mendenhall was thinking when he posted those comments.
