Music diva Whitney Houston has voluntarily checked herself into rehab at a California clinic to seek treatment for substance abuse.

Houston’s representative, Kristen Foster, told CNN on Monday that she is getting new help for her much-publicized struggle with drugs and alcohol. “I can confirm that Whitney Houston is currently in an out-patient rehab program for drug and alcohol treatment,” Foster said. “Whitney voluntarily entered the program to support her long-standing recovery process.”
