Last night, President Obama was caught on an open mic at a closed-door fundraiser in Chicago blasting the Republican’s efforts toward a budget deal that nearly shut down the government. CBS Radio News White House correspondent Mark Knoller listened in to this audio feed of President Obama’s conversation with donors after other reporters traveling with the president had left the room.
The Rev. Jesse Jackson said workers shouldn’t be the “scapegoat” for the nation’s economic woes as he joined a few hundred people at a union hall in Ohio amid debate over a bill that would abolish collective bargaining rights for state workers. Peep the video!
There was some friction during a debate on the Bill Maher show between the panelists and a audience member. Maher and guest Tavis Smiley couldn’t agree on the relative treatment of women in Muslim countries and America, leading to some spirited debate and some strong attacks on Muslim countries from Maher. During the debate, one audience member interrupted the show with a shouting rant before getting kicked out. Peep the video!
