Retired NFL star Tony Dorsett is one of more than 300 former players suing the NFL. In an exclusive interview with the “Associated Press,” Dorsett said the league (NFL) pressured injured players to “get back out” on the field, causing severe long-term damage.

Former two-time NBA champion turned NBA analyst Kenny Smith stopped by the studio of “Good Day LA” earlier this week to talk about his past career and current success on the “NBA on TNT” show, which he co-hosts with Shaquille O’Neal, Charles Barkley, and Ernie Johnson.

Smith also explains why he would pick Kobe Bryant over Lebron James to take the last shot in a game.

President Obama welcomed the 2011 NBA champions Dallas Mavericks to the White House on Monday (January 9th).

The special ceremony was held in the East Room of the White House in Washington, seven months after the mavericks beat the Miami Heat for the NBA championship.

During the Miami Heat vs. Atlanta Hawks basketball game last night, NBA analyst and new Weight Watchers spokesman Charles Barkley was caught on open mic during a commercial break talking about “Weight Watchers” and the Atlanta Hawks team.

Barkley said:

“I’ve been on weight watchers three months, ” he said “I have to lose two pounds a week. I’m at 38 pounds now. They come and weigh me every two weeks. I ain’t never missed a weigh-in. Never going to. I’m feeling much better. But I ain’t giving away no money… I’m not giving away no free money. I thought this was the greatest scam going— getting paid for watching sports — this Weight Watchers thing is a bigger scam.”

After Jason Taylor and his Miami Dolphins team defeated the New York Jets this past Sunday, the future hall of famer Taylor decided to call it quits and delivered an emotional farewell speech in the locker room following the game.

During his emotional speech, Taylor told his young teammates to cherish the game because one day their careers will also come to an end.

The six-time Pro Bowler also said that he is so thankful to have a wonderful wife, 3 kids and teammates.

NBA star Lebron James takes ESPN’s Rachel Nichols back to his hometown of Akron, Ohio. James discussed the struggles of growing up in the low income area and showed Nichols the apartment he grew up in high school. Also, he talked about not having any contact with his biological father as a kid and giving back to the low income children in the neighborhood.

“Chicago Bears wide receiver Sam Hurd is being held today on federal drug charges after allegedly attempting to purchase over a pound of cocaine from an undercover agent, and is alleged to be one of the top drug dealers in the Chicago area.

Police are also reportedly in possession of a list of NFL players who were allegedly supplied with illegal drugs by Hurd.”
