NBA All-Star Dennis Rodman was inducted into the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame Friday night (8/12/11).
Rodman took to the podium in tears and gave an emotional speech targeting himself, his biological father and the people who had an special influence in his life.
Rodman talked about his biological father that left him when he was five years and apologized to his mother, wife and kids for failing them as a husband, son, and father.
He said his one true regret was that he wished he’d been a better father. “I had one regret,” Rodman said, choking up. “I wish I was a better father.”
Former NFL legend Deion Sanders was inducted into the 2011 Pro Football Hall of Fame Saturday night (August 6,2011) in Canton, Ohio.
Deion gave a emotional-inspiring speech about growing up poor, his mother working hard trying to make ends meet, his plan to create the “Prime Time” image to make a lot money and promising his mother she would never have to work again.
Sanders told the audience, “If your dream ain’t bigger than you, there’s a problem with your dream.”
Sanders brought out rappers Snoop Dogg, Ice Cube and Nelly as special guests to attend his enshrinement speech. Also, all three rappers attended an after-party in honor of Sanders.
At the end of his acceptance speech, Sanders placed his famous bandana on the head of his hall bust.
